Timing Methodology
Timing Analysis: Our Four-Layer Framework
"When should I take action?" is one of the most practical questions in astrology. We are not predicting the future; instead, we analyze the energy cycles of celestial bodies to help you go with the flow.
First Layer: Your Decision-Making Style
What to look at: Mars (action style), Saturn (cautious side), Uranus (impulsive side), natal fixed/mutable ratio
Before analyzing timing, we first understand your inherent decision-making tendencies:
- Mars in Fire Signs → Action-oriented, needs reminders to slow down
- Mars in Earth Signs → Thoughtful, needs reminders not to procrastinate too long
- Mars in Air Signs → Information gatherer, needs reminders to ultimately make a decision
- Mars in Water Signs → Intuitive, needs reminders to incorporate rational analysis
Understanding your decision-making style allows us to provide timing advice that truly suits you— for impulsive types, we might suggest "wait a moment"; for hesitant types, we might say "now is a great time."
Second Layer: Long-Term Cycles (Annual Level)
What to look at: Solar Arc Directions, Secondary Progressions, Solar Return Chart, Progressed Moon
These techniques help us see the "big picture":
- Solar Arc Directions = Which "major chapter" are you currently in? Each chapter is governed by different planets, bringing various themes.
- Secondary Progressions = Which house has been activated this year? The theme of that house will be your focus for the year.
- Solar Return Chart = The celestial configuration around your birthday, indicating the main trends for the upcoming year.
- Progressed Moon = Where are you in your emotional cycle? New Moon phases are suitable for beginnings, while Full Moon phases are good for reaping rewards.
Third Layer: Medium-Term Windows (Monthly Level)
What to look at: Outer Planet Transits, Eclipses, Lunar Returns
- Jupiter Transits = Windows of expansion and opportunity (lasting about 1 year)
- Saturn Transits = Periods of testing and consolidation (lasting about 2-3 years)
- Eclipses = Turning points in fate, especially those occurring near your natal planets.
Eclipses are the most "fateful" indicators in timing analysis. Solar eclipses open new chapters, while lunar eclipses close old patterns. If an eclipse falls near your Midheaven (MC), it may bring significant career changes.
Fourth Layer: Precise Electional Astrology
What to look at: Electional Astrology — Choosing the best dates for action
Once you decide to take action, we can help you select specific auspicious days. The basic principles of electional astrology are:
- Moon Phase = The Moon is central to electional timing. The period from New Moon to Full Moon (waxing Moon) is suitable for starting new ventures.
- Avoid Void of Course Moon = The time when the Moon is between the last aspect and entering the next sign is not ideal for starting new things, as they may lack results.
- Strengthen Beneficial Planets = Position planets representing your goals favorably. For example, ensure Mercury is well-placed for signing contracts; position Venus favorably for starting a romantic relationship.
Core Wisdom of Timing Analysis
Astrological timing analysis does not tell you that "something is destined to happen on a specific day." It is more like a weather forecast:
- Knowing that tomorrow will be sunny, you plan outdoor activities.
- Knowing that there will be a storm next week, you postpone going out to sea.
- Knowing that temperatures will warm up in a month, you start planning for spring planting.
The celestial configurations are your life's "weather system." We help you interpret this system so you can make wiser choices.
